Ortega's Science Program Needs You!
There are three ways you can support our award-winning program and ensure a successful Science Lab for your child's class:
- Volunteer in the lab for your childʼs class. Our Science Program needs in-lab helpers! If you love working with the kids in your child's class, this is a great opportunity. As the In-Lab Volunteer for your child's class, you will help out in the Science Lab each week, assisting with materials prep, lab set up and clean up. You also get to help students with the hands-on lab work. These duties will require you to spend about 1 1⁄2 hours—rewarding and fun hours!—in Science Lab each week. If you are interested in volunteering, ask your childʼs teacher when their class will be attending lab.
- Donate needed Science Lab supplies for your child's class. If you don't have the time to help out directly, you can always contribute lab supplies for your child's class. Many Science Labs require common household items that can be obtained locally and much more cheaply than ordering through a scientific supplier; most of these items can be purchased from your local grocery or hardware store. Your childʼs teacher will be circulating a list of needed supplies at Back to School Night, and we appreciate anything you can contribute or solicit from other generous family members or friends. Please sign up to bring whatever you can.
- Make a monetary contribution to the Science Program. If youʼre too busy to volunteer in the lab or shop for supplies, you can always make a tax-deductible donation to the Science Program! Your donation will go directly toward procuring needed laboratory supplies.
Thank you for making Ortega's Science Program such a big success!
