Crazy Hair Day is Tomorrow & Pajama Day is on Friday!
Awesome News! School-Wide we have raised over $6,000, with every dollar raised going to fund art, science, computer and garden classes as well as Ortega's new Soul Shoppe program (information night on the 27th). This also means that we have now reached 2 of our school-wide incentives for Read-A-Thon: Crazy Hair Day (Tomorrow) & Pajama Day (Friday). Turn in Reading Logs and Pledges Tomorrow
We are almost halfway through the reading portion of our Read A Thon! Please have students turn in completed reading logs (with signatures) and any physical pledges received to their teachers tomorrow. New logs and pledge forms will be also be sent home. Every student that raises $100 will receive a special Read-A-Thon t-shirt on Monday. Update: We are SO CLOSE to our first school wide goal of $2,500 where students get to wear crazy hair to school! Remember to Log those Minutes!
*Reading Logs went home with students this past Friday.* In order to allow time for tallying, minutes are recorded each week. New reading logs will be handed out again next Friday for a total reading period of 2 weeks. Each student who fulfills the required reading will get an award for participation. Parent & Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast Friday
Ortega's teachers and staff are hosting a Breakfast for all Volunteers & Parents this Friday in the library from 8am-9:30am. Drop in anytime for some yummy treats- all provided by our amazing teachers and staff. Yard duty will also be provided for students.

Read A Thon Starts Friday!
Ortega's Read-A-Thon is a chance to foster the love of reading in our students while raising funds to support our school. This year's theme is "Ortega Art" and the reading portion will run from March 8th-March 22nd. Students will then have 2 weeks to read and log in their reading time.
