Ortega's PTO Board Members

President
Maria Jackson
This is my fourth year on the Ortega PTO board, and my third as PTO President. I have one kid at Ortega currently, a fourth grader. I am originally from Los Angeles and have lived in Pacifica for 12 years. I was very impressed by the Ortega community's ability to consistently come together for the benefit of Ortega students. I joined the PTO board because I wanted to be an active member of that community. I love this little community!

Treasurer
Megan Close
My name is Megan and I'm the co-treasurer this year for the PTO. I have two great kids, one who graduated to IBL last year and another who attends Ortega. My son is in 4th grade. Our family loves the Ortega community.

Communications Secretary
Andriana Antoniou
Hi Otters, this is my third year on the Ortega PTO board in the position of communications secretary and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I love being part of a group of thoughtful, motivated parents that are working together to create the best educational experience for our kids. I joined the PTO board because I wanted to be fully involved in our community. My daughter is in 2nd grade and my son is in 4th grade. I love the small community feeling at Ortega. If you see me on a campus, say Hi!

Activities Coordinator
Julie Cotter
This is my sixth year being on the PTO at Ortega, and my first year planning activities. My daughter, C. is a seventh grade bulldog at IBL and my daughter, K., is a fifth grade otter. My husband and I are both native Pacificans and are thrilled to be raising our family in this beautiful city. I volunteer at Ortega because I enjoy being involved in shaping my children’s experiences and bringing our Ortega community together. I'm honored to be part of this group of amazing families and dedicated teachers and staff.

Fundraising Coordinator
Amanda Gavin
Hi Ortega families! This is my first year volunteering on the PTO Board. I was part of the auction committee last year and really enjoyed helping pull that all together. I am mom to B. (1st grade) and W. (Kinder). After leaning how many programs are funded by the PTO, I felt it was important to put some of my time into fundraising so we can continue to offer these fun programs and activities for our kids. One of my favorite things about Ortega is its sense of community and I want to help keep that strong. I am looking forward to another great year and many more to come!

Fundraising Coordinator
Jasmine Sartain
Hi there! As of the 2022-2023 school year, this is my first year as a PTO Board Member and I am the Co-Chair of Fundraising with my great partner, Amanda Gavin. I have one son currently attending this wonderful school and another coming next year! I am honored to have been nominated for this position and absolutely love being an advocate for the Teachers and Students by helping them get what they need and deserve through fundraising. It is important to me to enrich the teaching experience, along with the learning experience. Our goal is to make Ortega the best school in Pacifica and we could not do this without the generous parents, grandparents and guardians who participate by volunteering their time and making donations when they are able. I look forward to continuing to work with this great PTO team and staying involved in this community. Go Otters!

Parent Council Representative
Dawn Rege
This is my third year on the PTO board. I have a daughter in third grade who wakes up excited to go to Ortega each day. We love the caring teachers and staff at Ortega and the different student experiences throughout the week - Playworks, music with Mr. U, garden science with Ms. Cami, library visits with Mrs. Hall, art, and the community activities like movie night and Carnival. I joined the PTO board to be part of a group that focuses on supporting teachers and students.

TK-2nd Grade Parent Representative
Christine Bell
Hi there! My name is Christine Bell, aka Mom to B. Bell (4th grade) and B. Bell (1st grade). A transplant to Pacifica I have fallen in love with the Ortega community, it is truly a magical place. I work in PR for a non-profit. Working full time it’s hard to juggle work/kids/school/life - I’ve been blown away by the supportive community here. Someone is always able to lend a helping hand – as it truly takes a village. I am so glad to call Ortega home. If you see me please say hi and if you need help don’t hesitate to reach out!
