Ortega's Got Talent 2023
Ortega’s 2023 Variety Show Information:
Variety show applications must be submitted by January 17th (Extended Deadline!) but can be submitted as soon as you are ready! Late applications will not be accepted. If your student is performing in a group, please make sure all forms are submitted. Each student is allowed to participate in ONE routine, either a solo or a group, not both. We cannot accommodate multiple routines this year. Each routine should be as close to 1 minute in length as possible. Routines with music must send edited songs to activities@ortegapto.org by January 17, 2023.
ANNOUNCERS & BACKSTAGE CREW (4TH & 5TH GRADE ONLY)
All students wanting to be an announcer or a member of the backstage crew must fill out an application and attend the rehearsals.
PERFORMERS
Each routine should be as close to 1 minute in length as possible. Please plan on bringing all props to rehearsals.
REHEARSALS
All performers, backstage crew and announcers are required to attend all rehearsal dates. PLEASE SCHEDULE OTHER COMMITMENTS AROUND THESE DATES. Students are expected to be respectful to performers on stage and will be dismissed from rehearsal for disrespectful conduct. Performers will be dismissed after they have rehearsed their routine and have signed out with an adult volunteer. Students will not be allowed to film or take photos of other routines during rehearsals. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and are welcome to attend rehearsals. With the exception of the informational meeting, we expect most rehearsals to be about 2 hours long. *The weekly rehearsal schedule will be sent out the night before we rehearse. Please reach out to activities@ortegopto.org on the Monday before rehearsals if your child will not be attending or needs accommodations.
PERFORMANCE
This year's performances will take place during school hours with an additional evening performance at 6:30. Performances will be videotaped for families.
